  1. The Kids Science Challenge, a free nationwide competition for third to sixth graders, made possible by the National Science Foundation.
Each year the KSC selects 3 science topics and a group of expert scientists and engineers. Kids, parents and educators are given the opportunity to learn more about these topics while visiting www.kidsciencechallenge.com. There are a wide variety of online tools for writing a winning entry, including activities, games, curricula and videos. Kids submit their own well-thought-out ideas, and these submissions are then judged by a panel of educators, scientists and engineers. A grand prize is given to a winning student (or team) in each of the science topics. The grand prize winner for each topic will win a trip to visit and collaborate with a scientist or engineer to see their idea come alive. There are also many cool runner-up prizes. You can enter the Kids’ Science Challenge online by clicking on “Submit your Entry” at www.kidsciencechallenge.com or you can fill out the form and mail it. All entries must be received or postmarked by Feb 28, 2011.

    Hello Friends of Environmental Education,

I need your help. I am working with a Task Force developed by the Environmental Education Association of Alabama (EEAA) and the Alabama State Department of Education. The goal of the Task Force is to develop an Environmental Literacy Plan for Alabama.

We need your input. This is your opportunity, today, to make a difference in the status of the environmental education (EE) of tomorrow.

Please visit <> to complete a survey that will guide the Task Force. Plus, send this to all of your contacts who care about EE in Alabama.

    Thank you,

    Heather

p.s. For those who have received this message more than once, I'm sorry!

You can visit www.eeaa.us for updates on Alabama's Environmental Literacy Plan.
